Anjali is an Emmy-nominated Indian-Canadian director, former climate scientist, tech founder and pro soccer player.
Anjali recently wrapped her first scripted feature SHELTERED TRUTHS which will be out in 2026 and is currently in production on a NIKE film about one of the top soccer players of all time. She's also currently in development on a series with the Golden State Warriors.
Anjali’s last film HACK YOUR HEALTH, about the microbiome and gut health with Academy Award-winning Tremolo Productions, received 4 Emmy nominations in 2025, and reached the top spot on Netflix in 10 countries and was in the top 10 Netflix films in 77 countries around the world. Anjali's fantasy short CLOSER has nearly 6 million views and won the 2022 Prism Prize Audience Award.
Her prior films have been supported by Cinereach, Sundance, and Tribeca, won countless awards, jury prizes, gone theatrical, and been acquired by Netflix and Amazon.
Anjali currently has three scripted projects in development: a South Asian fantasy thriller called THE DARK ONE, a found footage thriller called THE STORY, and a dark coming-of-age comedy called BESTEST.
In the commercial world, Anjali has directed work with brands such as Chipotle, Amazon, Southern Company, ACER computers, Patagonia, Goldman Sachs, Mountain Equipment Co-Op and the San Diego Zoo.
Anjali is part of the 2024/2025 Warner Brothers Director Discovery Program and a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of Canada and the Canadian Academy.
Before film, Anjali was a scientist and national-level soccer player. She earned a master’s in climate change from the University of Oxford and a graduate degree in space science from the International Space University. She also holds an MS in documentary journalism from Columbia University and worked as a foreign correspondent for Reuters based in East Africa for a decade.
