NDD: Atlantic International Film Festival Partners Director Delegation 2025

The National Directors Division (NDD) of the Directors Guild of Canada is proud to announce selections for the NDD Market Accelerator Delegation at Atlantic Partners 2025 during the Atlantic International Film Festival, running from September 10th - 12th.

Stephanie Joline (NS): TIME TRIPPING (Thriller, Feature) SEEKING FINANCING - In a near-future world where time travel is real but tightly controlled, a reluctant first-time traveler uncovers the disturbing truth behind the system—and the cost of rewriting the past. 

Taylor Olson (NS): IN THE QUIET OF WINTER (Drama-Magical Realism, Feature) SEEKING FINANCING, PRODUCTION PARTNERS, DISTRIBUTION - In the days surrounding the birth of his son and the medically assisted death of his estranged father, a grieving musician must confront buried guilt — leading him on a raw, lyrical journey through memory, magic realism, and the small and sacred things that tether us to life.

Megan Wennberg (NS): NONSUCH (Documentary, Feature) SEEKING FINANCING, PRODUCTION PARTNERS, DISTRIBUTION - A feature documentary about a dedicated conservation officer working to save a species of seabird thought to be extinct for over 300 years.

Rachel Bower (NS): SOCIAL CLONES (Documentary, Feature) SEEKING PRODUCTION PARTNERS - Social Clones is a one-hour documentary that explores how technology amplifies lookism and drives people to alter their appearances, sometimes drastically, to fit a digitally curated ideal of attractiveness. And, what we can do to challenge this trap.

Reem Morsi (ON): BOOTLEG (Feminist Comedy, Feature) SEEKING PRODUCTION PARTNERS - Bootleg is a feminist comedy about Roukaya, an outwardly obedient middle class Muslim woman, in an unsatisfactory marriage, who discovers sexual pleasure through sex toys in Canada and decides to return to Egypt. With the support of two other women, they start a risky underground sex-toy manufacturing business.

Shelagh Carter (MB): THE WOMAN WHO SWALLOWED WEST HAWK LAKE (Psychological Thriller, Feature) SEEKING EUROPEAN CO-PRODUCTION PARTNERS - A haunting thriller exposing silenced Third Reich secrets held by a family’s matriarch. Against her will, these secrets materialize as an unstable apparition , The Child, whose presence imperials the lives of her two innocent grandchildren driven to discover family truths.

Jeffrey St. Jules (ON): BIRDLAND (Romance-Sci-fi, Feature) SEEKING FINANCING - Halifax, Nova Scotia - 1995 - On the night a comet is set to destroy earth, two disillusioned teenagers roam the streets and fall in love as the world falls into madness around them.

Weiye Su (ON): TRANSPARENTHOOD (Drama, Feature) SEEKING FINANCING - In conservative Calgary, a Chinese-Canadian trans activist fights to build a sanctuary for her queer children while confronting the ghosts of her own rejection—from her birth family and a rigidly conservative province undergoing political unrest and rising far right tensions.
