Liz Whitmere

Liz Whitmere is a Canadian director/producer based in Toronto, with a love of grounded dark comedy. Most recently Liz has been producing and story editing short documentary pieces for TVO’s The Agenda with Steve Paikin, and is the Digital Innovator in Residence at the Toronto Reference Library, with focus on digital storytelling. She has produced critically-acclaimed and award-winning digital series for CBC Gem and Narcity, and has been directing digital series and short films since 2018. Whitmere’s film Up To Here is a reality-bending exploration of one woman’s unsuccessful search for mental solitude. Her most recent project, COLD, stars Melanie Scrofano as Jane, who died last week but didn’t notice.
Liz is an alum of the WIDC Story & Leadership program.
