She began her TV career directing for several documentary series including APTN’s Taken, The Other Side and Michif Country.

"Directing and/documentary were never the plan or the goal, they were the opportunities in front of me". - JJ Neepin
"I really enjoy directing for TV, both doc and scripted because they are short windows of time I can focus and give all this creative energy to. I thrive in blocks of productivity then I will get bored and will want to start something new, classic ADHD I'm told. I created a notebook system for myself so I can find my creative flow again when I've been away from a project for awhile, often when I return to the directors' edit. I still have all my notebooks just in case I need to remind myself how I navigated obstacles in the past and how much I've grown." - JJ Neepin
In between gigs, JJ writes for documentary projects and/or makes time to be on committees for film festivals or juries for art/film programs. In her personal time she likes to listen to True Crime audio books, watching documentaries, scrapbook journaling, reading manga and playing the occasional cozy game on her Xbox.
