Directing is my calling. When I was a kid I wanted to be a comic book artist. Then I co-founded Toronto's Buddies in Bad Times Theatre. My background in both painting and theatre serves me in creating a strong visual style and in working with actors. What do I do best? Inspire the team to do THEIR best. That's really what an employer wants, right? Surprise everyone with how good they can be. Egoless communication. Love a calm and fast-moving set. Love serving the text. I've directed everything, but my wheelhouse is genre: comic books, fantasy, horror, myth, magic, music. But inside the genre - it's all about people. I've been lucky enough to be awarded by the Directors' Guild, by the Geminis, by the Genies, by the Canadian Screen Awards more times than I deserve, I'm sure. I'll tell you more over a coffee.
