Sonoda is known for directing his features THINGS I DO FOR MONEY, COOPERS' CAMERA, SWEARNET: THE MOVIE, the iconic TV shows TRAILER PARK BOYS, ODD SQUAD, UTOPIA FALLS, and over 160 music videos, 80+ episodes of TV and 11 feature films. Japanese-Canadian, Sonoda is also the first person of colour to be elected as the National President of the Directors Guild of Canada in 2020, after serving as the NDD Chair and Ontario Directors Representative.
