Originally from Alberta, Tyler is director & writer with a passion for creating genre films with a unique voice. His debut feature PATCHWORK was released to Netflix in 2015, while his sophomore film TRAGEDY GIRLS (starring Alexandra Shipp and Brianna Hildebrand) has become a cult classic after premiering to critical acclaim at SXSW in 2017. Tyler directed GOOD BOY (starring Judy Greer) for Blumhouse as part of their INTO THE DARK horror anthology series on Hulu, and in 2022 directed an episode of V/H/S/99, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival before becoming the biggest premiere ever for AMC Shudder. In 2023, Tyler’s third feature, the Christmas horror feature IT’S A WONDERFUL KNIFE debuted at BeyondFest before being released wide in theaters across the US and Canada by RLJE. That same year he received story credit for his writing work on FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S for Universal, which became the highest-grossing horror film of 2023.
