Anishinaabe storyteller Jeremy Torrie (Waabishki Makwa) from Wabigoon Lake Ojibwe Nation works as a writer, Director, camera operator, and producer. Wherever the narrative leads him, Jeremy enthusiastically delves into unknown worlds and characters seeking a hero’s journey. His latest film MANY WOUNDS, a re-imagining of the incendiary Maori film Once Were Warriors, is about to enter the international festival circuit. It stars Seraa-Lys McArthur, Alex Meraz, Kiowa Gordon, Brooklyn Letexier-Hart, Skye Pelletier, and Wesley French.
To date, Jeremy has directed six feature films and numerous documentaries in his 25 year career spanning the globe. He's also in post on the feature documentary THE COVER UP for TVO, APTN, Hollywood Suite, & Knowledge Network. Up next is the historical feature film, COPPERMINE, from Keith Ross Leckie which stars Corey Sevier and Tasiana Shirley which goes to camera in August of 2025.
