Jason Buxton

Nova Scotia

Born in England, and raised in Canada, Jason Buxton is an award-winning filmmaker, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Jason’s feature debut, BLACKBIRD, premiered at TIFF in 2012 to critical acclaim and won the prestigious Best First Feature Award. In 2013, the film won the Canadian Screen Award for Best First Feature Film. Jason is currently developing a feature length documentary with the NFB, and his sophomore feature film SHARP CORNER is scheduled for production in the spring of 2022.
