Elizabeth Becker

Elizabeth is a graduate of the AFI's elite directing program and is known for her comedic sensibility and excellence working with children.  Her work often reflects thought provoking, deep concepts articulated expertly through cinematic storytelling, which create an emotional resonant with audiences. 

In her early years, Elizabeth worked as a Teen Host on CBC’s What’s New, and for several series on Canada’s YTV including YTV Rocks, Rock ‘n Talk, Streetnoise, and NBA Dunk Street before transitioning to the other side of the camera where Elizabeth embraced fictional storytelling.  Elizabeth’s early work in film includes award winning short films “A New Leash on Life”, “Misinterpreted”, “The Tulpa”, and “Bartholomew”.

Elizabeth won the prestigious NATP award through the Canadian Academy of Cinema and Television which placed her to work alongside several veteran directors including Rob Bowman, Ronny Yu, and most notably, the late Arthur Hiller.

In mid 2000’s Elizabeth embraced transmedia storytelling which led to multi-media projects “Stacy’s Room / The Stacy Project”, which explored the topic of female sexuality, and “HiBnb”, which resonated with global audiences in support of the destigmatization of cannabis.

Elizabeth’s work in episodic includes “The Next Step”, and, “My Perfect Landing”, which airs on Family Channel, CBBC, and as a Netflix original.
