Dawn Sorokolit-Burke

Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. The daughter of independent movie theatre owners, I knew at a very early age that I wanted to be involved in film-making and dreamed of becoming a director one day. After graduating from Ryerson’s Radio and Television Arts program I worked at the CBC in the Drama department. A colleague convinced me to give the freelance world a try. I landed a job as an Associate Director on a 130 episode, multi-camera format soap opera. After several years working multi camera shows I transitioned to Script Supervisor/Continuity in film and television. I spent the next 20 years working along side many inspiring directors, actors and crews. In 2021 I took the long-overdue leap into directing. I have directed 3 episodes of Murdoch Mysteries. The episodes received praise from both producers and fans of the show. I believe I bring a unique perspective to storytelling and my love for collaborating with actors makes directing a joy!
