David Frazee

I started in the business- about a thousand years ago- shooting/directing skiing and climbing films. Shot the Burton(snowboarding) film for five years. Moved into drama via cinematography and started directing on my first series “Madison”. On my second series as cinematographer, the multi award wining “DaVinces Inquest”, I ended up being one of the lead directors.

I was lucky enough to to get a pilot directing job for the series “Flashpoint” and continued as the lead director over its five seasons. And that ended my career as a cinematographer.

I’ve subsequently directed over 150 episodes of television and set up four series including “Endgame”, “X Company”, and “Allegiance”, bring to my sets enthusiasm, energy and a strong visual sense as well as providing a safe and encouraging space for the cast to do their best work.

Story is why most of us watch drama and story is the single most important part of my game, making sure it’s well told, making sure it’s engaging.
