Dan Slater

Dan Slater is an acclaimed director and writer from Toronto, known for his genre defying narrative work along with his pop culture inspired Juno nominated music videos. His recent feature film, The Family, premiered at the Busan International Film Festival, where it garnered widespread recognition and reviews and eventually went on to win the coveted "Best of the Fest" award at both the Ignite Film Festival and the Macabro Film Festival. Currently, Dan is currently in production of Skinnamarink Forever, a feature length documentary centered around the legendary trio, Sharon, Lois, and Bram, focusing on the remarkable beginnings and lasting impact of these iconic figures in the music industry. Meanwhile, Dan is eagerly preparing to direct his next narrative feature film, “Hacker For Hire”, the bombastic true story of the Yahoo Hacker, a smart  Canadian boy who fell to the seductive powers of fame, cars and money. Dan is also an advocate for equitable health care for all and organ donation. After receiving a kidney transplant in 2020 he began working with the Kidney Foundation of Canada to raise awareness for the dire need for organ donors.
