Bryan Skinner

Bryan Skinner is an award-winning writer, Director, editor, and longtime indie filmmaker. A graduate of Vancouver Film School, Bryan calls Victoria his home, and has over twenty years of experience in the film community there. He is formerly the Executive Director of CineVic: Society of Independent Filmmakers, where he shepherded hundreds of films through the process, and gained technical and creative experience through the many workshops and courses he organized. Bryan is interested in growing as a Director, and his recent experience in the AD departments of multiple MOWs has broadened his understanding of the industry. The Director and editor of dozens of short films and music videos, comedy is his passion. He completed his first feature in late 2019, the improvised comedy mockumentary OPEN FOR SUBMISSIONS, which netted him awards in Canadian and international festivals, a nomination for Direction and Best Motion Picture at the 2020 BC Leo Awards, and one of his lead actors a nomination at the 2020 UBCP Awards.
