Amanda J. Strachan is a producer, director and editor of narrative and documentary films. Her most recent feature, THE SURROGATE SCANDAL starring Catherine Dyer and Luisa D'Oliveira premiered on Lifetime (US) in March 2023, and received a Leo nomination for Best Lead Performance Female. During her career she has worked on award-winning, internationally acclaimed films that have premiered at TIFF, VIFF, Hot Docs and Cannes; as well as television programming and digital series for Amazon Prime, CBC, History Channel, Animal Planet, ARTE, Super Channel, and A&E’s Lifetime Network. Creatively, she's most drawn to character driven stories of survival and the perseverance of the human spirit. In addition to directing, Amanda currently serves as VP of Development at Imōto Productions, spearheading their film and television slate.
